DOTTIKON EXCLUSIVE SYNTHESIS, with its production site in Dottikon (Aargau, Switzerland), specializes on hazardous chemistry, low-temperature and high-pressure as well as continuous processing, and focuses on the exclusive synthesis of fine chemicals for the pharmaceutical and chemical industry worldwide. Our product range includes active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and pharmaceutical intermediates as well as in-house-developed, high-value industrial chemicals.
Applications of DOTTIKON ES' pharmaceutical products can be found in drug products for, among others, heart disease, asthma, high blood pressure, ulcers, and cancer. Industrial end products include food additives, cosmetics, electro-chemicals, photo-chemicals, and agricultural chemicals.
Our origins trace back to 1913 where at that time our roots as SSF (Swiss Explosive Works) were in the explosives industry. From the 1930's through the 1970's we developed processes for nitration, hydrogenation and oxidation which evolved into our today's chemical intermediates business and production using hazardous chemical reactions. SSF was purchased by Ems-Chemie Holding AG in 1987 and changed name to EMS-DOTTIKON AG in 1990 and finally to DOTTIKON EXCLUSIVE SYNTHESIS AG in 2005. In a spin-off from Ems-Chemie Holding AG transaction and IPO, we were listed under our new parental company DOTTIKON ES HOLDING AG on March 31, 2005 in the main segment of the SIX Swiss Exchange.
